The Social Security Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) and Medicare premium information for 2026 have been announced.

The Social Security Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) for Social Security benefits and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments for 75 million Americans will increase 2.8 percent in 2026.  The COLA adjustment is effective with December 2025 payments (paid in January 2026).

 

The standard Medicare Part B premium for 2026 is $202.90 per month, an increase from 2025, with most people paying this amount, though higher earners pay more based on their income and some low-income individuals may qualify for assistance. This premium covers services like doctor visits, outpatient care, and medical supplies according to Medicare.gov.
